Jack Fever

How we work

You have the room.We bring the evening.

Jack Fever is an event company in Chicoutimi. We build themed and co-operative evenings in other people's venues: a hall, a yard, a quay, a terrace. We do not own a venue, we do not sell tickets, and we do not run a bar. What we do is turn up with the trucks, build the evening, run it to a written sheet and take it away again.

Ask about a date

  • 17 programmes and zones on the shelf
  • 3 groups in the catalogue
  • 300 guests at the upper end

Seven steps,start to finish.

  1. Your e-mail

The date, the town, the guest count and, if you have it, the venue. We answer with what is free and what it would cost.

  2. The written proposal

One page with the programme, the crew, the hours, the final figure and every separate line. Nothing is left as "to be discussed".

  3. Advance and date

A 40 per cent advance payment confirms the date in the diary. Before that, the date is open to anybody.

  4. The site visit

We walk the room with the venue: floor plan, load-in route, door widths, power, and the hours we may be on site.

  5. The run sheet

A printed sheet, hour by hour, sent to you and to the venue. The kitchen gets the timing it needs in the same document.

  6. The day

Load-in, build, a walk-through with the floor manager, then doors. One person on our side holds the sheet and answers to you.

  7. Load-out and the invoice

The room is cleared and swept, our waste leaves with us, and the remainder of the invoice is due 14 days later.

Four thingswe hold to.

Countable, not adjectival

Every programme page lists sizes, counts and hours. A table is 240 by 120 centimetres, a crew is eleven people, a set is 45 minutes. If it cannot be counted, it is not on the page.

One price, written down

The figure in the proposal is the figure on the invoice. Overtime is the only thing that can be added afterwards, and the rate for it is in the proposal too.

The split in writing

What we bring and what the venue brings is in the proposal and in the run sheet. Nobody should discover a gap at four in the afternoon.

No invented numbers

There are no client logos, no award badges and no round numbers of past events on this site. What we can show is the catalogue, the prices and the process.

Who turns upon the day.

Roles, not names. The crew is booked per event, and the proposal says how many of each you are getting.

  • Floor manager. Holds the run sheet, speaks to the venue, makes the calls during the evening.
  • Host-narrator. Opens the programme, reads the standings, closes the evening.
  • Dealers and station hosts. Run the tables, desks and modules, and explain at the table rather than from a stage.
  • Route stewards. Stand at fixed points on walking programmes, in high-visibility vests.
  • Technicians. Light, sound and power. They build, they stay for the evening, they load out.
  • Cabinet attendant. Looks after the free play zone whenever it is part of the order.
  • Drivers. Two for the larger builds, in and out outside the programme hours.

Our side.Your side.

We bring

  • Equipment, props, set pieces, light and sound
  • Crew for the stated hours, and the drivers for the build
  • Printed matter and the run sheet for you and the venue
  • Liability insurance for our own equipment and crew
  • Travel inside the Saguenay region

You or the venue bring

  • The room or the site, with the floor plan and the load-in route
  • Power, and permission for our hours on site
  • Food, drink, bar service and the staff for them
  • Seating and dining furniture, unless a programme lists it
  • Invitations, the guest list and the door policy

What we areand are not.

We are an event company. We plan and run evenings in venues our clients book, on dates they choose, for guests they invite. One group in the catalogue uses casino-themed tables and a zone of free play cabinets, as props for an evening.

We do not hold a venue of our own, we do not sell admission, and we run nothing online.

Chips and credits are props: they cannot be bought or topped up, no bets are placed, there are no money prizes and nothing is exchanged for cash, goods, vouchers or valuable prizes. Admission is 18+. The invoice covers the organisation of the evening, not play. Responsible programme rules

You have the date.We have the trucks.

Write with the date, the town and a rough guest count. The answer comes back with real availability and a real figure.
