The rules in full
Props, not stakes. The rules in full.
This page carries the complete version of the rules that appear in short form on the programme pages. It applies to every evening we run, and in particular to the casino-themed programmes in Chip Theatre and to the free play cabinets.

1. What our service is
We are an event company. We plan and run offline themed and co-operative evenings in a venue our client books, on a date the client chooses, for guests the client invites. The client pays for the organisation of an evening: equipment, crew, build, light, sound and printed matter.
We do not operate a venue of our own, we do not sell admission to the public, and we run nothing online.
2. Chips and credits are props
On the casino-themed programmes every guest is handed the same stack of chips or the same credit slip at the door, as part of the programme.
- Chips and credits cannot be bought, won back or topped up, at the table or anywhere else on site.
- Dealers keep no cash at the table and take no payment of any kind.
- No bet is placed at any point in the evening.
- There are no money prizes.
- Chips, credits and standings are not exchanged for cash, goods, vouchers, discounts or valuable prizes.
- Chips are counted back in at the end of the evening and stay our property.
Where a programme has a leaderboard, it exists so the host can read out a result. Nothing of value is attached to it.
3. The free play cabinets
Some orders include rental cabinets, and two of the four in the Free Play Cabinets zone are mechanical slots with metal reels and a side lever. For all of them the same rules apply.
- Each cabinet runs on its own internal balance of credits, loaded by the attendant before doors.
- The bill acceptors, the coin acceptors and the credit meters are removed before the cabinets are loaded onto the truck.
- A guest puts nothing into a cabinet and takes nothing out of it.
- Credits have no value, cannot be transferred and are cleared at the end of the evening.
- Each cabinet carries a printed sign: free play, props only, 18 and over.
4. Age
Taking part in a casino-themed programme or using a cabinet is for people aged 18 and over. The client confirms this in the enquiry form and again in the contract, and the door policy is the client’s or the venue’s responsibility.
Our floor manager will close a table or a cabinet if it is clear that someone under 18 is using it.
5. How our crew behaves
- Hosts explain the programme as a game with props, never as a chance to win something.
- Nobody is pushed to keep playing, and a guest who stops is not called back to the table.
- Our crew does not accept tips in chips, and does not accept money for chips under any circumstances.
- If a guest appears to be in difficulty, or is visibly intoxicated, the host steps back from the table and informs the floor manager and the venue.
6. What we never do
- No sale of chips, credits, entries or stakes of any kind.
- No cash handling at a table or a cabinet.
- No prizes of value, no vouchers, no gift cards tied to a result.
- No online play, no app, no remote participation.
- No advertising that promises winnings, money or prizes of value.
7. Legal character of the programme
Our service is not gambling: there is no stake, no consideration paid for a chance to win, and no prize in money or in property. What the client buys is the organisation of an evening.
The venue remains responsible for its own permits and for anything its licence requires on the date.
8. If entertainment stops being entertainment
Our programmes contain no stake and no prize, so they carry no financial risk for a guest. If a guest or a client is nevertheless worried about gambling in their own life, support services exist in Quebec and across Canada, through the provincial health service and through specialised helplines.
Our crew will always stop a table on request, with no questions asked and nothing said to the rest of the room.
9. Complaints
If something on an evening of ours did not follow these rules, write to us at the address below with the date and the venue. We answer in writing within five working days and keep a record of the complaint and of what we changed as a result.
